In Call of Duty: World at War, what is the name of the first zombie map?

The story behind the answer

In Call of Duty: World at War, the first zombie map is Nacht der Untoten.

The map appears after completing the campaign and introduced the surprise Nazi Zombies mode. Its German title translates roughly to “Night of the Undead.” Players defend a small, abandoned building against endlessly escalating waves of zombies, beginning with only a basic M1911 pistol.

Nacht der Untoten was intentionally simple compared with later Zombies maps. It had no Perk-a-Cola machines, Pack-a-Punch machine, or elaborate quest system. Players earned points by killing zombies and repairing boarded windows, then spent those points to open rooms and buy weapons.

A common mix-up is choosing Verrückt, Shi No Numa, or Der Riese. Those maps were added later through downloadable content and expanded the mode with features such as perks, traps, special environments, and more complex layouts. Nacht der Untoten is therefore both the first World at War Zombies map and the starting point for the broader Call of Duty Zombies series.
