In BBC’s Sherlock, Mycroft Holmes’s assistant is known as Anthea.
Anthea works closely with Mycroft Holmes and appears alongside him in several episodes. The series deliberately gives her little personal background, and “Anthea” functions primarily as the name by which other characters identify her.
The character is played by Lisa McAllister. In the opening episode, “A Study in Pink,” she is shown as one of Mycroft’s associates and is briefly linked to Sherlock’s brother during his efforts to monitor Sherlock’s activities.
Anthea is often confused with Janine Hawkins, who works as an assistant to Charles Augustus Magnussen in “His Last Vow.” She is also distinct from Molly Hooper, the pathologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. These characters occupy separate professional circles in the series.
