In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which Viking warrior is the playable protagonist?

The story behind the answer

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the playable Viking protagonist is Eivor.

Eivor is a Norse raider who leaves Norway and leads a clan to England during the ninth century. Players can choose a masculine or feminine presentation for Eivor, but the character's name remains Eivor. The story follows settlement-building, alliances with English kingdoms, raids, and encounters with the Hidden Ones and the Order of the Ancients.

Eivor's adoptive brother, Sigurd, is a central character and an important source of narrative conflict. Other Viking figures, including Ivarr and Ubba Ragnarsson, also appear, but they are not the player character. This makes names from the Raven Clan and the Great Heathen Army easy to confuse.

Valhalla was released in 2020. Its main historical setting is England, while Norway and mythological sequences expand the world beyond the core settlement storyline.
