Arno Dorian is the Assassin who leads Assassin's Creed: Unity, a story set during the French Revolution.
Arno is a French Assassin whose personal life is disrupted by the murder of his adoptive father, François de la Serre. Seeking the truth, he joins the Assassin Brotherhood and investigates a conspiracy unfolding in Paris during the revolutionary period.
The game begins in 1776 and reaches the French Revolution, with major events taking place in Paris. Its setting includes recognizable landmarks such as Notre-Dame de Paris, the Palais de Versailles, and the Bastille. Unity also introduced cooperative missions that allowed multiple players to work together.
Arno is sometimes confused with Élise de la Serre, a Templar and central character in the story. Élise is important to the plot, but she is not the game's playable protagonist. The name Arno Dorian refers specifically to the fictional Assassin, not a historical revolutionary figure.
