Jacob Frye leads Assassin's Creed Syndicate's main campaign alongside his twin sister, Evie Frye. The pair are Assassins who work to undermine Templar control in London during the Industrial Revolution.
Jacob is generally associated with direct combat, gang leadership, and control of London's districts. Evie focuses more heavily on stealth, investigation, and searching for an Isu artifact. Players can switch between the twins after the story introduces them, although some missions require a particular character.
The game is set in London in 1868. Its industrial setting introduces trains, factories, organized gangs, and a grappling launcher that helps the twins traverse the city. Jacob is sometimes confused with Henry Green, the London Assassin who assists the Fryes but is not one of the twins.
