Bayek’s home in Assassin’s Creed Origins is the Egyptian oasis town of Siwa.
Bayek is a Medjay, a protector and lawkeeper, who lives in Siwa at the beginning of the game. The opening chapters establish his family, his duties and the personal events that draw him into a wider conflict involving the Order of the Ancients.
Origins is set in Ptolemaic Egypt during the first century BCE, before the Assassin Brotherhood formally exists. Bayek and Aya’s experiences help create the Hidden Ones, the organization that becomes the historical foundation for later Assassins.
Siwa is a real oasis in Egypt’s Western Desert, far from the Nile Valley. It should not be confused with Alexandria, the large Mediterranean port that also appears in the game, or Memphis, another important Egyptian city visited during the story.
