In Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the protagonist's eagle companion is named Ikaros.
Ikaros is a golden eagle who helps Kassandra or Alexios scout locations across the Greek world. From the air, the bird can identify enemies, supplies, objectives, and other points of interest. This reconnaissance system lets players survey an area before deciding whether to fight, sneak, or explore.
The player character's choice between Kassandra and Alexios changes the playable presentation, but Ikaros remains the eagle companion associated with the protagonist. The name refers to Icarus, the figure from Greek mythology who flew with wings made by Daedalus, although the game uses the spelling Ikaros.
Ikaros is often confused with Senu, the eagle companion of Bayek in Assassin's Creed Origins. Phoibe is a young ally in Odyssey, while Barnabas is the captain of the ship Adrestia. Those characters are important to the story but do not provide aerial scouting.
