Assassin's Creed II was originally released worldwide in 2009.
Ubisoft Montreal developed the game as the second major entry in the Assassin's Creed series. It launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2009, followed by a Windows release in March 2010. The game expanded the original title's historical stealth formula with a larger world, improved city traversal, and more varied missions.
The story follows Ezio Auditore da Firenze across Renaissance Italy, including Florence, Venice, and Forlì. It is often confused with Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which followed in 2010 and continued Ezio's story in Rome. Assassin's Creed II also began the Ezio trilogy, completed by Brotherhood and Revelations.
