In Assassin's Creed II, what is the full name of the Renaissance assassin from Florence?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed II's Renaissance assassin from Florence is Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Ezio is the central protagonist of Assassin's Creed II, released in 2009. He is born into a Florentine noble family and becomes involved with the Assassin Brotherhood after a political betrayal destroys much of his family life. His personal quest gradually expands into a wider struggle against the Templars.

The game's story begins in Florence and later visits several Italian locations, including Monteriggioni, Venice, and Forlì. Its historical setting spans the late fifteenth century, allowing Ezio to encounter figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Lorenzo de' Medici, and Rodrigo Borgia.

Ezio's name is sometimes shortened to “Ezio Auditore,” but “da Firenze” is part of his full character name. He returns as the protagonist of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, making him the series' most extensively developed assassin.
