In Assassin’s Creed II, in which city was Ezio Auditore born?
Answer
Florence
Answer
Florence
In Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio Auditore was born in Florence.
Ezio is introduced as a young Florentine nobleman in 1476. Florence, the capital of the Republic of Florence and a major center of Renaissance culture, provides the opening urban setting for much of the game. Ezio’s family home, relationships, and early transformation are all closely tied to the city.
The game later takes Ezio to other Italian locations, especially Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Forlì, Venice, and the Vatican area of Rome. Because Venice occupies a large and memorable part of the adventure, players sometimes incorrectly identify it as Ezio’s birthplace. Venice is important to his journey, but it is not where he was born.
Assassin’s Creed II was released in 2009 and follows Ezio’s life over several decades. Its Renaissance Italy setting helped distinguish it from the first game’s Crusades-era Levant and became one of the franchise’s most recognized historical backdrops.
