Rome is the main setting of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
The game continues Ezio Auditore's story after Assassin's Creed II and places him in Rome, where the Borgia family controls much of the city. Ezio works to weaken Borgia power, rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood, and restore districts affected by political and military domination.
Rome is represented through major landmarks including the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Castel Sant'Angelo, and the Vatican area. The city's large connected map also supports Brotherhood's recruitment and liberation systems, which let Ezio train new Assassins and assign them to missions.
Florence and Venice are important locations in Assassin's Creed II, so they are frequent answers given by mistake. Brotherhood's distinctive identity comes from making Rome the central city rather than dividing the campaign among several equally prominent Italian locations.
