Ezio Auditore is the playable protagonist of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The game continues his story after Assassin's Creed II and keeps him as the central character throughout the campaign.

Brotherhood is set mainly in Renaissance Rome, where Ezio works to rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood and oppose the Borgia family. The story follows his efforts against Cesare Borgia and his allies while he develops a network of recruits.
