In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which Assassin does the player control?

The story behind the answer

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the player controls Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Brotherhood continues Ezio's story after Assassin's Creed II and moves much of the action to Rome. Ezio works to weaken the Borgia family, whose political and military power dominates the city.

A major feature of the game is the ability to recruit and train new Assassins. Ezio becomes a leader rather than operating only as an individual operative, and the Brotherhood system lets players call allies into missions.

Altaïr is the protagonist of the first game, while Edward Kenway leads Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Ezio also appears in Assassin's Creed Revelations, making him the series' central protagonist across three main games.
