In 1967 how many days did the Six Day War between Israel and neighboring Arab states last?

The story behind the answer

The Six-Day War between Israel and neighboring Arab states lasted 6 days, from June 5 through June 10, 1967. It is also called the June War or the Third Arab–Israeli War.

The main opposing states were Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Tensions had risen sharply before the conflict, including Egypt's removal of United Nations peacekeepers from the Sinai Peninsula and its closure of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping. Israel launched a major air attack at the start of the war, quickly destroying much of the Egyptian air force on the ground.

During the six days, Israel captured the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. These territorial changes reshaped Middle Eastern politics and remained central to later diplomatic negotiations.

A common mix-up is confusing the Six-Day War with the 1973 Yom Kippur War, which lasted much longer and began with a surprise attack by Egypt and Syria.
