How many World Grand Prix races are held in Pixar's Cars 2?

The story behind the answer

Pixar's Cars 2 features three World Grand Prix races.

The competition begins in Tokyo, continues in Porto Corso, Italy, and concludes in London. The event is organized by Sir Miles Axlerod to promote Allinol, a supposedly clean alternative fuel, and to determine the world's fastest racer.

Lightning McQueen competes for the United States, while Francesco Bernoulli represents Italy and Lewis Hamilton represents the United Kingdom. The races are interwoven with Mater's accidental involvement in Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell's spy investigation.

The three-race structure is easy to confuse with the film's many action sequences, which include espionage, explosions, and the Radiator Springs scenes. The World Grand Prix itself has three official racing rounds, each staged in a different international location.
