2026 Hall of Fame inductee Chamique Holdsclaw won Naismith College Player of the Year twice.

Holdsclaw received the award in 1998 and 1999 while playing for the Tennessee Lady Vols. She became one of the defining stars of Pat Summitt’s program and helped Tennessee win NCAA championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

Her college résumé included three national titles, three SEC Player of the Year awards and multiple All-American selections. She finished her Tennessee career as the program’s all-time leading scorer at the time.

Holdsclaw was the first overall pick in the 1999 WNBA draft, selected by the Washington Mystics. She also won an Olympic gold medal with the United States at the 2000 Sydney Games and entered the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
