Three sons of Noah are named in the Genesis Flood account: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Genesis 6:10 names Noah’s three sons before describing the Flood. Genesis 7:13 then says Noah entered the Ark with his wife, his sons, and his sons’ wives. Together, these family members form the human group preserved in the Ark narrative.
The sons later receive separate roles in Genesis’s family and genealogy stories. Shem is presented as an ancestor in the line that leads toward Abraham, while Ham and Japheth are associated with other descendant groups in the Table of Nations.
The text does not present the three sons as triplets or give a complete modern-style biography for each. Their names are stable across most English Bible translations, although transliteration can vary slightly in other languages.
