Joey Tribbiani has seven sisters in Friends.
Joey’s large Italian American family is introduced through references across the series and is shown most clearly in the season 3 episode “The One with Frank Jr.” His sisters are Tina, Angela, Maria Teresa, Gina, Dina, Cookie, and an unnamed sister who is also referred to in the family storyline.
The seven sisters help establish Joey’s background as one of eight children. Their names and personalities are not all developed equally, which can make the count easy to misremember. Gina, played by K.J. Steinberg, later receives more attention as Joey’s sister and the mother of his nephew Michael.
Joey’s family should not be confused with the six central Friends characters. Joey is one of the show’s six main friends, but his family is much larger, with seven sisters and several other relatives appearing or being mentioned.
