As of 2024, four seasons of Stranger Things had been released on Netflix.
The first season premiered on July 15, 2016, introducing viewers to Hawkins, Indiana, and the parallel dimension known as the Upside Down. Season 2 arrived in 2017, Season 3 in 2019, and Season 4 was released in two volumes in 2022.
The two-part launch of Season 4 sometimes causes confusion, but it still counts as one season, not two. Its nine episodes were split between a seven-episode first volume and a two-episode second volume. The season also became notable for its unusually long episodes and expanded story across Hawkins, California, Russia, and the Upside Down.
By the end of 2024, Season 5 had not yet been released, so the total remained four. The series was renewed for a fifth and final season in 2022.
