The original run of Parks and Recreation had seven seasons.
The NBC sitcom premiered on April 9, 2009, and concluded on February 24, 2015. Across its seven-season run, the series produced 125 regular episodes, with the final season moving the story several years into Pawnee’s future.
The show was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur and starred Amy Poehler as relentlessly optimistic public servant Leslie Knope. Although the first season was short and received mixed early reactions, the series developed a stronger ensemble and more distinctive tone in season two.
Viewers sometimes count the 2020 reunion special as an additional season, but it was a standalone special rather than an eighth season. The original NBC series therefore remains a seven-season television run, ending with the two-part finale “One Last Ride.”
