J.R.R. Tolkien’s Elves received three Rings of Power in the Second Age.
The three Elven Rings are Narya, Nenya, and Vilya. Celebrimbor and the Elven smiths of Eregion made them, and Tolkien’s history gives them a special status because they were not directly touched by Sauron when they were forged.
The Rings were nevertheless connected to the One Ring’s power. When Sauron forged the One Ring, the Elves perceived his plan and took off their Rings. They later used them openly only when Sauron’s influence was removed or defeated.
The other great Rings were distributed differently: seven went to Dwarf-lords and nine to Men. The One Ring was made separately by Sauron in Mount Doom to dominate the other Rings of Power.
