The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater features 10 real professional skateboarders. The roster includes Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Kareem Campbell, Rune Glifberg, Bucky Lasek, Chad Muska, Andrew Reynolds, Geoff Rowley, Elissa Steamer, and Jamie Thomas.
That number refers to the licensed real-life professionals available in the game, not every playable character. The original also includes two unlockable fictional characters: Officer Dick and Private Carrera. Their presence can cause players to remember a larger total roster.
The game launched for PlayStation in 1999 and was later ported to systems including Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Boy Color, and N-Gage. Some ports added or changed content, so counts from later Tony Hawk games should not be applied to the first release.
The sequel expanded the real-skater lineup, which is another common source of confusion. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is often described as having 13 real professional skateboarders, while the original has 10.
