Five ports are listed for the 2026 Operation Sail celebration connected with America250.
The listed ports are New Orleans, Norfolk, Baltimore, New York City, and Boston. The planned schedule begins in New Orleans in late May and moves through the Atlantic coast before concluding in Boston in July.
Operation Sail, commonly known as OpSail, organizes maritime celebrations featuring tall ships and other vessels. The 2026 program is intended to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence and is described as the largest gathering of tall ships since 1976, the bicentennial year.
The port count is five, not the number of participating countries or individual ships. Some listed cities host ships for several days, and the fleet is expected to include vessels from the United States and numerous other nations.
