Released in 2021 as set 31203, World Map became famous for its enormous piece count and wall-display format. Rather than building a three-dimensional vehicle or landmark, builders assemble thousands of small elements into a mosaic-style map of Earth.
The set is designed for customization. Its ocean tiles can be arranged according to LEGO's bathymetric-inspired design or placed in a builder's preferred pattern. The map can also be assembled in three different versions, each emphasizing a different continent, and brick-built pins allow builders to mark destinations.
A common mix-up is confusing the piece count with the set's dimensions or with the 10,001-piece Eiffel Tower. The World Map's 11,695 pieces include the many small tiles and studs that create its detailed, rearrangeable surface.
