C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia consists of seven novels.
Lewis wrote the series between 1949 and 1954, and the books were published between 1950 and 1956. The sequence includes stories such as The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and The Last Battle.
Publication order and internal chronological order are different. The Magician’s Nephew describes events earlier in Narnia’s history, but it was published sixth. Most original readers encountered the world through The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which was the first published Narnia book. The complete set has remained one of the best-known works of children’s fantasy.
