Five new quarter designs are scheduled for the United States Semiquincentennial in 2026.
The special quarter series was authorized by the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020. Unlike a normal year with one principal reverse design, the anniversary program uses five different quarter designs to mark themes from American history. The coins are intended for circulation as well as collection.
The announced themes are the Mayflower Compact, the American Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Gettysburg Address. Each design links a coin to a different moment or idea in the nation’s historical story, ranging from early self-government to Civil War-era national purpose.
These quarters are separate from the American Women Quarters Program, which ran from 2022 through 2025. They are also distinct from the earlier 1975–1976 Bicentennial quarter, which used a dual date and a single special reverse design.
