How many large boost pads are on a standard Rocket League field?

The story behind the answer

A standard Rocket League field has 6 large boost pads. Four sit near the corners, while two are positioned at midfield along the side walls.

Each large pad instantly restores a car's boost to 100, making these pickups strategically important during attacks, defensive rotations and boost-denial plays. Their locations are mirrored across the field, so both teams have equal access to the same resource. The pads take time to respawn after collection, which is why players often track whether a corner or midfield boost is available.

The large pads are easy to confuse with the smaller boost pads scattered across the pitch. A standard field has 28 small pads as well, for 34 boost pads in total. Small pads provide 12 boost rather than filling the meter completely, but collecting several in sequence can keep a rotating player active without abandoning the play.

Good players do not always leave the play to take a full boost. Rotating through nearby small pads can preserve position, while taking a corner pad may create a dangerous gap. Boost management is therefore as much about field awareness as it is about collecting the six large pickups.
