What is the name of Rocket League's single-player season mode?

The story behind the answer

Rocket League’s single-player season mode is called Season mode.

In this mode, one player leads a team through a league schedule against computer-controlled opponents. It gives players a structured competition outside the game’s online multiplayer matches and helped introduce the series’ car-soccer mechanics in a more approachable setting.

Rocket League grew out of Psyonix’s earlier game, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. Because relatively few Battle-Cars players went online, Psyonix designed a single-player season experience to encourage players to learn the game before trying online matches.

Season mode is easy to confuse with Career mode, a common label in sports and racing games. Rocket League’s official terminology is simply “Season,” while other options such as Story mode and Arcade mode describe different kinds of game experiences.
