How many Isle of Man TT races did Italian champion Giacomo Agostini win in his career?

The story behind the answer

Giacomo Agostini won 10 Isle of Man TT races during his career.

The Italian champion became one of the TT’s dominant riders during the 1960s and early 1970s. His victories came primarily with MV Agusta in the 350cc and 500cc categories, when riders could enter more than one class at a meeting and elite competitors often contested several races.

Agostini’s TT record is sometimes confused with his much larger Grand Prix statistics. He won 15 motorcycle World Championships and 122 Grand Prix races, but his Isle of Man TT total was 10 victories. Those are separate records, covering different competitions and counting systems.

His TT career also carried historical importance beyond the win tally. Agostini helped lead a rider boycott of the 1972 TT because of safety concerns, and the event was removed from the World Championship calendar afterward. He remained one of the fastest and most successful riders ever to compete on the Mountain Course, despite ending his TT participation during that period.
