Beyoncé’s song “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” won three Grammy Awards at the 2010 ceremony.
The song won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Song of the Year at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. It was written by Terius “The-Dream” Nash, Tricky Stewart, Beyoncé, and Thaddis Harrell, and it appeared on Beyoncé’s 2008 album I Am... Sasha Fierce.
The black-and-white music video became especially famous for its tightly synchronized choreography, including the dance associated with the song’s chorus. The visual was directed by Jake Nava and featured dancers Ashley Everett and Ebony Williams alongside Beyoncé.
The song’s Grammy total is sometimes confused with the number of nominations it received or with Beyoncé’s total awards from the same ceremony. The three wins belong specifically to “Single Ladies,” not to the entire album or her complete 2010 Grammy haul.
