Pixar's Cars movie series has three feature films as of 2026.
The feature-film series consists of Cars, released in 2006; Cars 2, released in 2011; and Cars 3, released in 2017. Together they follow Lightning McQueen from ambitious rookie to experienced racer and mentor.
The franchise also includes short films, television projects, video games, and theme-park attractions. Those additional productions can make the total Cars screen output seem larger, but they are not feature films in the main trilogy.
The number three refers specifically to Pixar's completed theatrical Cars features as of 2026. It does not count the Cars Toons shorts, the Cars on the Road streaming series, or other spin-off media as additional feature films.
