Mike D’Antoni had won two EuroLeague titles as a player before entering the 2026 Hall of Fame class.
D’Antoni won both championships with Olimpia Milano, the Italian club where he played from 1977 to 1990. The titles came in 1987 and 1988, when the competition was known as the FIBA European Champions Cup, the predecessor of today’s EuroLeague.
His European playing career was exceptionally successful. He also won five Italian League championships, two Italian Cups, the 1985 Korać Cup, and the 1987 FIBA Intercontinental Cup with Milano.
The two EuroLeague titles are distinct from D’Antoni’s later coaching achievements. As a coach, he won Italian domestic honors and reached the 2002 EuroLeague Final Four with Benetton Treviso. His NBA coaching career came after his European playing and coaching years.
