Saturday Morning Minions consists of 40 episodes.
The digital slapstick series debuted in 2021 as Illumination’s first original Minions-focused online series. Episodes were released weekly on Saturdays through Illumination’s social-media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.
The format is notably different from the theatrical films: each installment is a very short comedy sketch built around the Minions’ chaotic everyday antics. The series uses 2D animation, while the main Despicable Me films are computer-animated features. A common mix-up is confusing the 40 episodes with the episodes’ approximate 40-second running time, or with the many other Minions short films and television specials released separately.
