Lost: Missing Pieces contains 13 episodes, presented as short video clips known as mobisodes. They were created as supplemental stories set within the world of the main Lost television series.
The clips were released during the hiatus between Lost’s third and fourth seasons, primarily from November 2007 through January 2008. Most ran for roughly one to four minutes and were distributed first to Verizon Wireless customers through V CAST, then made available through ABC’s website.
The project expanded the show’s mythology without functioning as a conventional broadcast season. Its stories featured familiar characters and filled in small moments, character details, and background events. One installment, “The Envelope,” was notable because it was a deleted scene from the third-season premiere rather than a newly filmed mobisode created specifically for the collection.
The title can cause confusion because the clips are sometimes called “mobisodes,” “webisodes,” or simply Missing Pieces. None of those alternate labels changes the count: the official collection consists of 13 original short entries, not 16, 10, or 8.
