In the United States, “Drop Dead” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It also extended Rodrigo’s distinction as the first artist to debut the lead singles from her first three studio albums at the top of that chart.
The single was released on April 17, 2026, while the album followed on June 12. Its successor, “The Cure,” also reached number one in several markets, but its chart pattern was different: it topped Australia, Ireland, and Singapore and reached number five in the United States.
