Rafael Nadal has won 36 ATP Masters 1000 singles titles. That total ranks him second on the men’s all-time list, behind Novak Djokovic, and reflects Nadal’s sustained excellence below the Grand Slam level.
Nadal’s largest haul came at the Monte-Carlo Masters, where he won 11 titles. He also won the Italian Open 10 times, the Canadian Open five times and the Madrid Open five times. His other Masters 1000 victories came at Indian Wells and Cincinnati.
The Masters 1000 series consists of the nine highest-level ATP tournaments outside the Grand Slams and the ATP Finals. Nadal reached 53 Masters 1000 singles finals, winning 36 and finishing runner-up 17 times.
His record is particularly remarkable on clay. Nadal and Djokovic are the only players to win at least five Masters 1000 titles at four different tournaments: Monte Carlo, Rome, Madrid and Canada. Nadal’s 36 titles are separate from his 22 Grand Slam singles titles and Olympic singles gold medal.
