Beyoncé’s planned Renaissance trilogy consists of three acts.
The trilogy began with Renaissance, released in 2022. It continued with Cowboy Carter, released in 2024, and was designed as a sequence of connected but musically distinct projects. Beyoncé’s announcement and the albums’ act labels established the three-part structure rather than presenting the releases as unrelated albums.
Renaissance focuses strongly on dance, house, disco, and club music. Cowboy Carter shifts toward country while drawing on a much wider history of American music. The contrast between the two acts is part of the trilogy’s concept: each project examines different musical lineages while remaining connected through Beyoncé’s authorship and themes.
A third act had not been released as of October 2026 in the established discography referenced here. The number three describes the planned structure, not the number of albums already available. That distinction prevents confusing announced format with completed releases.
