Three 2026–27 Premier League opening-weekend matches kicked off at 3:00 pm.
The simultaneous fixtures were Nottingham Forest versus Leeds United, Everton versus Crystal Palace, and Ipswich Town versus Sunderland. All three were scheduled for Saturday 22 August 2026 at 15:00 BST.
The other Saturday matches were placed at different times. Hull City versus Manchester United was the lunchtime fixture at 12:30, while Brentford versus Tottenham Hotspur was scheduled for 17:30. This staggered arrangement allowed broadcasters to show selected matches separately.
The afternoon group included Ipswich Town’s first Premier League match after returning to the division and Hull City’s first Saturday fixture after promotion. Premier League schedules commonly contain several matches at the traditional 15:00 Saturday time, although broadcasting restrictions mean those games are not normally all televised live in the United Kingdom.
