Haynes King’s winning touchdown run in the 2026 NFL Hall of Fame Game covered 5 yards.
King scored on a five-yard scramble as time expired, giving the Carolina Panthers a 33–30 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The play capped a final drive in which Carolina moved into position for the game’s decisive snap.
A rushing touchdown is credited when a runner carries the ball into the opponent’s end zone. The listed distance measures the ball carrier’s advance from the line of scrimmage, not the entire length of the preceding drive. King’s score was therefore a five-yard play even though the drive itself traveled much farther.
The finish made King the defining player of the exhibition opener. He completed 21 of 34 passes for 180 yards and two passing touchdowns in addition to the winning run. The game was played in Canton as part of Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week.
