Steve Jobs was Apple’s co-founder and longtime chief executive who helped introduce the iPhone in 2007.
Jobs co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne in 1976. After leaving the company in 1985, he returned in 1997 and led a major product revival centered on the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
The iPhone was unveiled by Jobs on January 9, 2007, and went on sale in the United States on June 29 that year. Jobs remained Apple’s CEO until his resignation in August 2011. Tim Cook succeeded him as chief executive, while Wozniak is best known for his engineering role in Apple’s early computers.
