Filming took place in Manhattan and Milan.
Principal photography for The Devil Wears Prada 2 began in June 2025 and continued through October. The production filmed in Manhattan, the central New York setting associated with Runway magazine, before moving to Milan, Italy, the sequel’s major international fashion destination.
Milan was not merely a backdrop mentioned in the story. The production filmed there from October 6 to 18, 2025, and also captured material at a Dolce & Gabbana show during Milan Fashion Week on September 27. That gave the film access to genuine fashion-week energy and real industry locations.
The production also used Newark, New Jersey, for an important airport sequence. Some interiors representing Milan were filmed elsewhere: Manhattan’s Woolworth Mansion stood in for hotel-room interiors. These details explain why a quiz asking for the Italian city has one clear answer: Milan, not Venice, Florence, or Rome. Milan is Italy’s internationally recognized fashion capital and fits the sequel’s expanded fashion-world storyline.
