During which years was Confessions II recorded? Confessions II was recorded from 2024 to 2026.

Madonna began developing the album after returning to the studio with producer Stuart Price in London. Early work was reported in October 2024, and the project continued through 2025 and into 2026 before the album’s July 3, 2026 release.

The recording period reflects a long creative process rather than one continuous session. Madonna and Price worked on the album’s dance-oriented sound while also shaping its autobiographical themes, including family, grief, healing and Madonna’s early relationship with club culture.

The album was conceived as a sequel to 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor. Like its predecessor, it was built as a largely continuous dance record, but the newer project expanded its palette with house, EDM, synth-pop, disco and downtempo influences.
