Before joining Five Finger Death Punch, guitarist Darrell Roberts was in W.A.S.P.
Roberts became a member of the Los Angeles heavy metal band W.A.S.P. in 2002. He played lead guitar and contributed backing vocals during the band's early-2000s period, appearing on releases including Dying for the World and the two-part concept album The Neon God. W.A.S.P. was founded and led by vocalist and bassist Blackie Lawless and became known for theatrical performances and shock-rock imagery.
Roberts left W.A.S.P. in 2005 and subsequently joined Five Finger Death Punch, a Las Vegas-based metal band formed in 2005. He played on the group's debut album, The Way of the Fist, released in 2007. Roberts departed Five Finger Death Punch in 2009 and was replaced by Jason Hook. Later, he formed the project Sintanic with former Murderdolls drummer Ben Graves.
The question can be confusing because Roberts is strongly associated with both bands, but W.A.S.P. clearly came first in his professional timeline.
