At which university was Albert Einstein an associate professor from 1909 to 1911?

Albert Einstein was an associate professor at the University of Zurich from 1909 to 1911. The appointment was his first university professorship and marked his transition from patent-office employee to academic physicist.

Einstein had earned his doctorate from the University of Zurich in 1905 while working at the Swiss Federal Patent Office in Bern. After a well-received 1909 lecture on electrodynamics and relativity, physicist Alfred Kleiner helped secure him a newly created post in theoretical physics. Einstein began the job in October 1909.

He left Zurich for the German University in Prague in 1911, where he became a full professor. He later returned to Zurich in 1912, this time as a professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, now ETH Zurich. The usual confusion is between these two Zurich institutions: the 1909–1911 appointment was at the University of Zurich, while his later Zurich professorship was at ETH.
