At which studio complex were most Harry Potter film scenes made?

The story behind the answer

Most Harry Potter film scenes were made at Leavesden Studios.

The studio complex in Hertfordshire, England, became the principal production base for the Harry Potter films. The former aircraft factory provided large sound stages where filmmakers built major sets, including the Great Hall, the Ministry of Magic interiors and parts of Diagon Alley.

Production began at Leavesden for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and continued through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The long-running shoot allowed sets, props and costumes to be stored and reused as the young cast and story developed.

The site was later redeveloped as Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London opened there in 2012, displaying original sets, costumes and props from the film series. Location filming also took place elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
