At which stadium did the 2026–27 Premier League season officially kick off?
Answer
Emirates Stadium
Answer
Emirates Stadium
The 2026–27 Premier League officially kicked off at Emirates Stadium.
The opening match at Arsenal’s home ground was Arsenal versus Coventry City on Friday 21 August 2026. Arsenal were the defending champions, and Coventry were one of the three teams promoted into the Premier League for the new season.
Emirates Stadium has been Arsenal’s home since the club moved from Highbury in 2006. It is located in Holloway, in north London, and has a listed capacity of 60,704 for the 2026–27 Premier League season.
The venue is sometimes casually called “the Emirates,” but the stadium’s formal name is Emirates Stadium. It should also not be confused with Wembley Stadium, which hosted major England and cup fixtures but was not the site of this league opener.
