At which New Mexico town did Georgia O'Keeffe maintain a home and studio from 1949?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe maintained a home and studio at Abiquiú, New Mexico, from 1949.

O'Keeffe had visited New Mexico regularly since 1929 and became deeply attached to its landscapes. In 1945 she purchased a neglected adobe house in Abiquiú, but restoration took several years. She eventually made it her principal home and studio after moving to New Mexico permanently in 1949.

The Abiquiú property included a famous courtyard wall and door that O'Keeffe used as subjects in paintings. The house also gave her a practical base near the landscapes that had inspired her for decades.

Abiquiú is not the same place as Ghost Ranch, although the two are closely associated with O'Keeffe's New Mexico years. Ghost Ranch was a landscape and retreat area, while Abiquiú was the town where she restored and lived in her historic adobe home.
