Answer
Union Buildings
Nelson Mandela delivered his 1994 inauguration speech at the Union Buildings.
The Union Buildings in Pretoria are the official seat of South Africa’s national government and the location of the president’s offices. Mandela was inaugurated there on 10 May 1994.
His speech presented the new government as a break with apartheid and promised a democratic society founded on equality, reconciliation and human dignity. The ceremony was attended by international leaders and large crowds.
The site later gained further symbolic importance. A nine-metre statue of Mandela was unveiled there in 2013, shortly after his death, standing in the gardens between the government buildings.
