At which art school in Chicago did Georgia O'Keeffe study in the early 1900s?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe studied at the Art Institute of Chicago in the early 1900s.

She attended the school from 1905 to 1906, receiving academic training in drawing and painting. The institution was one of several important stages in her formal education, which also included the Art Students League in New York and later work at the University of Virginia.

O'Keeffe's later art moved away from strict academic realism toward abstraction and highly personal observation. That development can make her training easy to overlook, but her early education gave her a strong command of composition and draftsmanship. The institution is now commonly called the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, although “Art Institute of Chicago” is the standard historical reference in accounts of her studies.
