At what New Mexico location did Georgia O'Keeffe paint many landscapes near Abiquiú?

The story behind the answer

Georgia O'Keeffe painted many landscapes at Ghost Ranch near Abiquiú.

Ghost Ranch is a retreat and education center in northern New Mexico, near the village of Abiquiú. O'Keeffe first visited the area in 1934 and later rented a house there, spending part of each year working among its cliffs, mesas, and desert vegetation.

The dramatic landscape supplied subjects for paintings such as Ranchos Church, Red Hills, and a number of works featuring the area's distinctive formations. O'Keeffe repeatedly returned to particular views, showing how close observation and changes in light could generate many related compositions.

Ghost Ranch is sometimes treated as interchangeable with O'Keeffe's Abiquiú home, but they are separate places. Her Abiquiú residence became her principal home and studio after 1949, while Ghost Ranch was an important nearby retreat and source of imagery.
